Acne does not suddenly develop to pus filled pimples. It takes some time. If you can prevent the infection, you may avoid acne scars. Why not to treat acne at the stage of whitehead or blackhead itself? Let us see how to do that?

During the process of acne formation, whitehead and blackheads turn into papule or pustule also called pimples. If we can keep the pore open, follicle will not get infected.

Do the following-

  • Use topical formulations made with retinoids or AHAs. That will ensure rapid turnover of cells and remove the top layer of dead skin cells.
  • You can also use microdermabrasion to keep the pores open.
  • Keep your hands clean and wash your face with a good acid balanced cleanser or an AHA based cleanser. Don't over clean the skin. Clean it two to three times a day.
  • Don't touch the spots. That may infect them.
  • Trying to remove the comedones may infect them. Extract whiteheads and blackheads. carefully with sterile tools.
